Cold Brew VS Cold Coffee
Our own Cold Brew is now available online and in our various stores. But what exactly is Cold Brew, why is it different from a simple iced coffee, and why is it so trendy?
The difference in process
Cold brew is created by steeping coarsely ground coffee in cold water for 12 to 24 hours. The result is a concentrate that is typically diluted with water in a 2:1 ratio. Unlike regular cold brew, cold brew is never exposed to heat. Therefore, cold brewing relies on time rather than heat to extract the sugars, oils, and caffeine from the coffee, while preserving its aromas and flavors.
Cold brew coffee, on the other hand, is brewed like any other classic brewing method: using heat. It's simply hot coffee that has been allowed to cool and then served over ice.
