PROFILE
Grown in the lush highlands of Papua New Guinea's Waghi Valley, this high-altitude coffee is the fruit of the labor of small producers located around the Kuta Ridge. The cherries are transported to the Kuta Mill, where particular attention is paid to their quality, notably through a bonus system that encourages producers to deliver carefully ripened fruit.
Cultivated at approximately 1,550 to 1,600 meters above sea level on the region's rich volcanic soils, the coffee trees comprise iconic varieties such as Arusha, Blue Mountain, Bourbon, and Typica. After harvesting, the cherries are sorted and pulped, then the coffee is fermented, washed repeatedly, and naturally sun-dried, a process that favors a clean and precise cup.
