Qu'est-ce qu'un café de marque privée?

What is a private label coffee?

Generally speaking, as a roaster, we select our coffees, roast them, and create our own products. However, we sometimes partner as private label roasters. But what exactly is that?

PRIVATE LABEL COFFEE

Private label coffees are created by a roaster but packaged and sold under another client's brand. This allows you to produce your own brand without worrying about crafting high-quality coffee, as well as brand design and marketing strategies.

At Faro, we follow in-depth strategies guided by our diverse expertise to create a coffee offering that will work for your customers. This includes everything from roasting profiles and bean selection to certifications, the import and storage of green coffee beans, as well as branding and marketing support for your brand.

Consumers are increasingly turning away from chain stores, and the demand for locally sourced specialty foods is rising significantly. Coffee is no exception, making the creation of private labels offering specialty coffees a highly promising avenue.

THE ADVANTAGES

Starting out in the coffee industry to create your own product and brand can be a daunting task, especially if you have limited knowledge of the broader coffee sector. Leveraging the expertise of a private label roaster will have a positive impact on improving your product and increasing its profitability.

The advantages are endless: cost reduction, product diversification, quality improvement, elimination of points of comparison with the competition, flexibility in pricing and distribution strategies, to name just a few.

You will also have access to our specialized equipment and expertise, allowing you to produce higher-quality coffee. Our Diedrich roaster is custom-made and meets all our requirements regarding the quality of our coffee beans. The burner technology ensures clean and efficient combustion, resulting in significantly less pollution. This roaster is precise, environmentally friendly, and consistent, while also preserving the artisanal approach that embodies the art of roasting. It allows us to maintain the quality of our coffees under all circumstances, regardless of your volume or needs.

CERTIFICATIONS

Sustainable coffee is gaining popularity and commitment to good purchasing practices is something to consider, especially as they will become a market requirement in the near future.

FAIRTRADE

Fairtrade Canada coffee

Fairtrade certified products support farmers and workers in their efforts to improve their lives and communities. Fairtrade certification means that the coffee was produced by farmers' organizations or on small-scale plantations that meet the social, economic, and environmental standards established by Fairtrade. These standards include protecting workers' rights and the environment, paying the Fairtrade Minimum Price, and the Fairtrade Premium, which can be invested in business or community projects.

Producers decide for themselves how they will invest their Fairtrade Premium. The Premium is an additional sum of money paid to farmers and workers on top of the Fairtrade Minimum Price. This sum can be invested in social, environmental, or economic development projects. These projects aim to improve their businesses and communities. In practical terms, this means investments in schools, transportation, healthcare, sanitation, and a better environment, equipment, and business practices.

BIOLOGICAL

A pioneer in organic certification, Ecocert has been contributing for almost 30 years to the development of best practices in organic farming, at every stage of the chain, from producer to distributor.

When your coffee is Ecocert certified, you can be assured that it comes from a production process that respects living ecosystems, better management of natural resources (water, air, soil fertility), as well as energy, socially responsible supply chains, and improved product quality and safety. This certification upholds essential elements for addressing current economic, social, and environmental challenges.

The land where the coffee is grown is enriched with natural plant matter, and coffee farmers can benefit from safer and more reliable agricultural practices. Furthermore, there is no exposure to pesticides for the farmers and the families who grow the coffee, and fewer risks of respiratory and health problems for the communities.

HOW TO CREATE A MIXTURE

Private label Coffee Cupping First and foremost, creating a coffee blend is essential for your customers to associate a specific flavor with your brand—a flavor that only you can provide. By offering quality and consistency, you can ensure that your customers will return for that unique taste and aroma you offer.

Blends allow you to include coffees that appeal to a wider audience. A single-origin Ethiopian coffee, light, floral, and complex, brewed as a filter coffee, for example, might not appeal to every customer who walks through the door. You need to understand your market and identify what your target customers are looking for. Do they prefer more traditional flavors or something out of the ordinary? What brewing method do they favor? Do they often drink their coffee with or without milk?

After determining where your coffee will be consumed and what profile your customer will be looking for, you will need to taste several coffees that interest you to understand the different origins and determine what profile you want the consumer to taste.
