5 myths about decaf
You live, breathe, and love good coffee, but you don't always want the effects of caffeine?
There's no need to sacrifice the delicious coffee experience you crave when you choose decaf. Whether you're already a decaf drinker or haven't yet given it a try, you'll likely be surprised to learn about everything that goes into its production, especially in the case of our newest addition: Decaf Espresso with Sugar Cane.
Not surprisingly, there are many myths surrounding decaffeinated coffee. Don't worry, we're here to help debunk them! Let's take a look at the 5 most common myths:
1. It tastes like nothing

Decaffeinated coffee used to have a reputation for tasting like nothing. Caffeine itself has no taste, but some decaffeination methods remove important flavoring compounds along with the caffeine.
A chemical-free process like sugar cane decaffeination helps preserve the subtle and distinct characteristics of the origin and flavor of the coffee beans, leaving you with a flavorful coffee without any added aftertaste.
2. It's full of chemicals
False! Our sugarcane decaffeinated coffee is 100% natural: the green coffee beans are placed in a bath of water and ethyl acetate, which binds to the chlorogenic acid salts in the coffee and allows the caffeine to be removed. The coffee is then removed from the solvent and steamed at low pressure to eliminate the ethyl acetate, and the finished product retains its aromatic integrity but contains virtually no caffeine.
3. True coffee lovers don't drink decaf.
Wait until you try this one! Here, we only serve specialty coffees, including decaffeinated. It's worth noting that caffeine itself has no taste, but certain decaffeination methods can remove important flavoring compounds from coffee.
The challenge for any decaffeination company is finding a method that extracts a large amount of caffeine without affecting the flavor of the bean. In the specialty coffee world, this is even more critical.
4. It does contain caffeine, though.
Although no decaffeination process can remove all the caffeine from a coffee bean, the sugar cane decaffeination process naturally removes 99.99% of the caffeine from that coffee (we're not going to go crazy with the remaining 0.01%).
5. There is no benefit to drinking decaf
That's also false! Drinking decaffeinated coffee doesn't mean you'll miss out on the health benefits of coffee. The majority of these benefits actually come from the polyphenols in coffee, which have an antioxidant effect—and are always present, whether or not caffeine is present.
Furthermore, you've probably experienced the adverse effects of too much coffee; shaky hands, a racing heart, and sky-high anxiety are all common experiences caused by over-caffeination. Sometimes, too much is as bad as too little. The trick: have caffeine occasionally, but decaffeinate more regularly!
Decaf deca ñ a

Our new decaffeinated coffee, or decaf de caña, is a unique coffee imported straight from Colombia and is special in more ways than one: first of all, it is specially designed for its quality and comes from a single origin.
This decaffeination method has been a game-changer in the coffee industry and has helped produce some of the most flavorful decafs in the world. The cup reveals citrus notes enveloped in a smooth, balanced profile and is equally good as a filter or espresso.
Decaf should never be a compromise, and in all honesty, we consider this coffee a reward in itself, especially since those who drink it do so first and foremost for its taste!
In short, with this knowledge, you can now make better choices and enjoy more coffee, including caffeine-free, at any time of day.
